Chai Tea with Lemongrass

chai tea with lemongrass 2This Chai Tea with Lemongrass comes originally from the west coast of Indian.


400ml (2 c) Milk
400ml (2 c) Water
4 – 5 Stalks fresh lemongrass, chopped
2 Tea bags, black tea or rooibos
2.5ml (½ teasp) Chai Masala
20ml (4 teasp) Sugar


  1. Put the milk and water in a saucepan.  Place over high heat and bring to a boil.
  2. Lower the heat to medium, add the lemongrass, tea bags and Chai Masala.  Boil for 1 minute.
  3. Add the sugar.  When it comes to a boil again, lower the heat to low and simmer for 2 – 3 minutes.
